About Tell the Truth Sheffield

Tell the Truth Sheffield Logo

Tell the Truth Sheffield was set up in 2019 when Graham Wroe was invited to start writing articles for the Sheffield Telegraph. This was a result of a big campaign by Sheffield Extinction Rebellion to stop the local papers from printing letters and articles that deny the science of climate change or the importance of acting now to combat it. We demanded that the papers tell the truth about the emergencies we are facing, and the Sheffield Telegraph eventually responded by offering a column. We now have a team of writers and ensure there is an article in the Sheffield Telegraph each week. It also covers the Nature Emergency, Palestine and other related issues. In 2023 the Sheffield Star invited me to write a short fortnightly column. These are usually shorter versions of the Telegraph articles.

The blog also includes articles and letters written for other publications and some posts that have not been published elsewhere. The views expressed are those of the author of each particular post. Views expressed in videos included in this blog are those of the person featured in the video.

TelltheTruthSheffield.org is a member of South Yorkshire Climate Alliance and Sheffield Palestine Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid.

If you have an idea for an article please get in touch.

Complaints to the BBC and the prospect of a Judicial Review

Laura Kuenssberg interviewed Deputy Leader of Reform Richard Tice on Sunday. Kuenssberg pushed Tice on the Reform UK councillor who suggested “melting down Nigerians to fill pot holes”. Kuenssberg also pushed Tice on the astonishing private £5 million personal donation to Farage. It is telling that Tice tried to dodge the questions. During the interview,…

A film everyone must see

There was a good-sized audience of around 60 people, but I’m guessing most were already quite knowledgeable about the climate and nature emergencies. The 50-minute film combines authoritative scientific content from…
