The richest 1% of humanity is responsible for more carbon emissions than the poorest 66%

We don’t tend to see many billionaires here in Sheffield. They are more likely to be in their mansions or travelling the world in their private jets or yachts. Their lives are insulated from the struggles of ordinary people, whom they are never likely to meet.  Yet this small number of people has a disproportionateContinueContinue reading “The richest 1% of humanity is responsible for more carbon emissions than the poorest 66%”

How should we be growing food to help create a healthier future?

A guest blog by Karine Nohr. For her birthday present, my 7-year-old granddaughter asked me for some gardening tools. I was completely chuffed by this because learning to grow your own food is such a major life skill and one that I believe will become increasingly necessary in the very near future. My heartfelt sympathies go out to all who have lost loved ones to this awful pandemic and to those thatContinueContinue reading “We need a new normal”

Airport expansion blocked at Heathrow and Bristol. Doncaster and Leeds next?

Green campaigners are celebrating the brilliant news that Heathrow airport expansion has been stopped because it is incompatible with the Paris Agreement. At last, the courts have realised how important the Paris agreement is and legal campaigners Plan B and Friends of the Earth must be congratulated for winning this David and Goliath battle.  BristolContinueContinue reading “Airport expansion blocked at Heathrow and Bristol.
