Cyril Olsen asks a good question (Star 29th August): who should we believe?
Should we believe Cyril and the propaganda fed to him by the Israeli Government?
Or should we believe the International Criminal Court, the International Court of Justice, the United Nations, Oxfam, UNICEF, the World Health Organisation, UNRWA, Al Jazeera, the Red Cross, the Red Crescent, the Middle Eastern Eye, the medical workers in Gaza, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, the World Central Kitchen, Doctors without Borders, B’Tselem, the Amos Trust, the Jewish Network for Palestine, the World Surgical Foundation, the families of people in Sheffield who live in Gaza and the West Bank, the Israeli soldiers that have admitted to their war crimes and the 146 countries supporting Palestine? It is not me who has my head in the sand, Cyril!
He once again complains that I do not mention Hamas. Of all the deaths from the conflict since Oct 7th 2023, only 3% have been Israeli, and many of those were from “friendly fire”. 97% of the deaths were Palestinians, and the vast majority of those have been women and children. Each day, Israel kills the equivalent of a classroom full of children. Israel has deliberately targeted journalists to stop them from informing the world what is happening, and medical workers to stop them from healing the sick and injured. They have prevented aid from being delivered and shot at those queuing for it when it is.
Make no mistake, this is Genocide, and it is shameful that our Government hasn’t done more to stop it and is still actively supporting it with fighter jet parts and reconnaissance missions.
