Protesters gathered outside the Tesla Showroom at Drakehouse Retail Park near Crystal Peaks on Saturday, as part of the new global movement to take down Tesla. A placard reading “Honk to send Elon to Mars” prompted constant honking from passing cars, showing support from the Sheffield public. Protests took place at over 200 locations, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol, New York, San Francisco, and Berlin.
Elon Musk is using his obscene wealth and social media dominance to support far-right racist Movements. He is funding climate-change deniers and backing policies that drive emissions higher, supporting Trump in his campaign to “Drill, Baby Drill”.
Musk’s access to his money depends on the share price of Tesla, and Tesla’s share price depends, fundamentally, on people who care about the climate continuing to buy Tesla cars and use their chargers.

years, and we, the people, can take it back down again.
Andy Davies from Sheffield Green Party said, “We’re here to protest against Elon Musk himself. The more we can drive Tesla stocks into the ground, the more people we can convince not to buy their cars, to sell their cars if they’ve got one, the more we can drive Elon Musk’s wealth into the ground and stop him from influencing worldwide politics.”
How can you help? First and foremost, don’t buy a Tesla and discourage anyone you know who’s thinking of it. If you have a Tesla, selling it will drive resale values down even further. It’s a shame when people have tried to do the right thing for the environment, but now find they are associated with a toxic brand. If you have a different EV, avoid Tesla chargers.
Uber is a big contributor to Tesla, thanks to a partnership with Hertz. If you use Uber, tell them you don’t want to be seen in a Tesla because Elon Musk is fuelling climate change. Ask Uber to add an identifier to their systems showing if a car is a Tesla before you book.
