Sheffield calls for an end to arms sales to Israel.

As the bombing of Lebanon and the Genocide in Gaza continued, Sheffielders came out in force on Saturday to demand the Government stop selling arms to Israel. Here is the march- it took more than 5 minutes to come past me and I estimate there were about 1000 people.

Emma Davis from the NEU highlighted the importance of next week’s demonstration in London to oppose the far-right Tommy Robinson.

Many younger people were given the opportunity to speak at the rally, including XR’s Torrin who represented the anti-zionist Jewish community.

Students spoke powerfully about the connections between Sheffield University and the Genocide.

Shazana from Cage International was able to speak, having been silenced for 3 months following her arrest for speaking out for Palestinians.
