I was privileged this evening to attend the book launch of Adoette by Lydia Monks. Lydia began the evening on a very sad note, informing us all that Queen Elizabeth had died.

The event was hosted by Marmadukes on Ecclesall Road a lovely venue.

The book tells the story of Adoette, which means “big tree”. Just like the Queen, she saw many changes and lived through happy and sad times.

But as Adoette grew older she was no longer welcome and there were some who wanted her to go….

It was great catching up with tree campaigners, many of whom can be spotted in the book!

You can get your copy at Sheffield Waterstones (there are still some signed copies left) or from Hive.
