I was one of thirteen campaigners from Sheffield Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid who attempted to deliver an urgent letter to the Secretary of State, David Lammy, today at the Ministry of Justice on Scotland Street.
We are deeply concerned about the hunger strikers who have been in prison for nearly two years without trial and have been refusing food for nearly 40 days. The Ministry of Justice rule is that prisoners on remand must come to court after 6 months.
Receptionists refused to open the door to us, or contact a manager who would be able to forward the letter, so eventually if was posted under the door, even though this is a matter of life and death.
In this video Green Party Deputy Leader Mothin Ali discusses the hunger strikers plight with Crispin Flintoff.
