Christian Climate Action thank the Diocese and Cathedral for choosing fossil free banking

Members of Christian Climate Action gathered outside Sheffield Cathedral last Sunday before the morning service to thank the Diocese and the Cathedral for choosing Fossil Free Banking.

Holly said, ” We are outside Sheffield Cathedral today, saying a big thank you to both Sheffield Cathedral and Sheffield Diocese because they both chose a fossil-free Bank. Banks have such a huge influence on the world around us by what they choose to fund, and Banks such as Barclays and HSBC, Santander Nat NatWest and Lloyds are all choosing to fund fossil fuel expansion. So it’s really important that we as individuals choose a bank which doesn’t fund fossil fuels and also that we encourage and urge our institutions, such as the church, to choose a fossil-free Bank as well.
