Tell Labour leaders in Sheffield to Stop Arming Israel this Saturday.

As Nissum Vaturi, the Deputy Leader of Israel’s Knesset and right-hand man to Netanyahu, declares that all Gazan men should be killed, and our Government continue to support the Genocidal Israeli Government with weapons, Tell the Truth Sheffield will be joining protesters outside the Labour Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Conference in Sheffield from 8 to 10am this Saturday at the Crowne Plaza Royal Victoria Hotel.

Jon Cowley from the Palestine Solidarity Campaign writes

“Several cabinet ministers will be heading to this, including Rachel Reeves. They will be greeted by a rally protesting at government support for Israel as it conducts a genocide in Palestine and and its repressive policies against migrants and people seeking asylum at home.

Campaigners are organising a rally outside the Conference as delegates arrive between 8 and 10am on Saturday morning demanding that the government “Stops Arming Israel” and “Stops deportations” of migrants.

The protesters will be calling on the delegates to campaign in the Labour Party:

  • for a complete two-way arms embargo with Israel, including an end to military support for Israel from Cyprus
  • for Councils to divest from all companies that conduct business with Israel, and ensure local authority pensions funds to do the same
  • for active support for the work of the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court.
  • to end deportations, and stop the racist rhetoric against migrants and people seeking asylum that is dividing communities and sowing hatred
  • to provide safe routes for people fleeing persecution and conflict, and to welcome people seeking asylum in the U K
  • to lift the ban that prevents people seeking asylum from being allowed to work
