Today I joined with the Sheffield Coalition against Israeli Apartheid in a march from Louise Haigh MP’s office in Meesbrook to Paul Blomfield’s office on Edmund Road.
We handed in letters at both offices with a request to the staff to contact the MP’s before the vote. Unfortunately, no one was there to receive our letter to Paul Blomfield.
I am pleased to report Paul Blomfield announced that he would be voting to support a Ceasefire. Clive Betts (Labour – Sheffield South East) also supported a ceasefire.
Olivia Blake (Labour – Sheffield, Hallam), Gill Furniss (Labour – Sheffield, Brightside and Hillsborough) and Louise Haigh (Labour – Sheffield, Heeley) did not vote, possibly because they were “paired” with another MP as they couldn’t be in the chamber. Miriam Cates MP (Conservative – Penistone and Stocksbridge) voted to continue the bloodshed.
Here is a record of how all the MPs voted.
