Palestine Protest at BBC Radio Sheffield

On Friday October 27th members of Sheffield Palestine Solidarity Campaign protested outside Radio Sheffield to complain about the lack of coverage of recent protests in Sheffield and the abysmal reporting of the national BBC which refuses to call out Israel for the War Crimes they are committing, and often reports as if the conflict was started by Hamas on October 7th when in fact the conflict dates back to 1948 when Israel was founded.

There is so much Radio Sheffield could be doing if it chose to.

They could have sent a reporter to the massive rally on Saturday to report how Sheffielders are reacting to the Genocide in Gaza. I don’t think anyone from the BBC turned up.

They could invite Palestinians living in Sheffield to come to the studio and appear on programmes this week. They could interview members of the Jewish community who are horrified by what is happening and need to be heard.

Now communications have been cut off by the Israelis it may be very difficult to report what Sheffielder Musheir El-Farra is saying from Gaza, but Radio Sheffield could possibly interview his wife or at least report what he has written on Facebook.

Radio Sheffield could invite the Tadhamon Singers to the studio to tell their story of their visit to Gaza and find out more about the background to this war. They could even sing some songs.
